How Much Does It Cost to Host a Discord Bot?

How much does it cost to host a Discord bot? At AtrbCode, hosting starts at $0.70 per month for 256 MB RAM. That is the plan price. Every payment adds a $1.00 service fee, and your first bot plan adds a one-time $2.00 account fee. Fixed monthly pricing means the cost does not depend on how many messages or servers the bot handles.

How much does it cost to host a Discord bot? Our fixed-price plans

AtrbCode sells five fixed-price Discord bot plans:

Plan RAM Monthly price
Starter Bot 256 MB $0.70
Pro Bot 512 MB $4.99
Ultra Bot 1024 MB (1 GB) $9.99
Max Bot 2048 MB (2 GB) $17.99
Titan Bot 4096 MB (4 GB) $29.99

These are fixed monthly prices. They do not change based on message volume or the number of servers your bot joins. Each payment adds a $1.00 service fee. The first bot plan on your account also carries a one-time $2.00 account fee. The first payment is the plan price plus those two fees; later renewals add only the $1.00 service fee.

Unlike usage-based hosts, the bill does not scale with compute time. Railway’s Hobby plan costs $5/month and includes $5 of usage; a 1 GB bot runs about $10/month in usage on top of that, based on our October 2026 checks. A fixed monthly price from AtrbCode means you know the bill before the month starts.

What affects Discord bot hosting cost?

RAM is the main cost driver. A bot that only answers a few text commands fits in 256 MB. A music bot that streams audio, or a bot that processes images, uses more memory and will need one of the larger plans.

AtrbCode bot hosting includes Python 3.11, Node.js 22 (discord.js), and Java 21 (runnable .jar) runtimes, automatic package installs from requirements.txt or package.json, auto-restart on crash with crash-loop stop and email, persistent /app/data storage, encrypted secrets for tokens, and a browser editor. These features are included in the plan price.

Free vs paid: the real cost of free hosting

Free hosting is fine for a short experiment, not for a bot your community relies on. Railway’s free plan gives $1 of usage per month and a 0.5 GB RAM maximum. That is enough for a tiny test bot but not for a real one that needs to stay online. AtrbCode does not offer a free plan; our lowest plan is the Starter Bot at $0.70 per month.

The hidden cost of free is downtime. If the free tier runs out of usage, the bot stops. If the host sleeps after inactivity, your bot misses events. With a paid fixed-price plan, your bot is not stopped when a usage allowance runs out.

Calculating your total monthly budget

Your total for any AtrbCode Discord bot plan has two parts on the first payment: a $1.00 service fee and a one-time $2.00 account fee. After that, each renewal adds only the $1.00 service fee. The calculation is straightforward:

For example, on the Starter Bot plan, you pay the $0.70 plan price plus the two first-payment fees, then the plan price plus the service fee each month after. There are no other charges on the plan.

How to choose the right plan without overpaying

Start with the smallest plan that matches your bot’s runtime. A text-command bot written in Python or Node.js usually starts comfortably in the Starter Bot’s 256 MB. If you are running a music bot, a large utility bot, or a bot that joins many servers, start with Pro Bot (512 MB) or Ultra Bot (1 GB). You can always move to a larger plan later from your account.

Monitor your bot’s memory use. If the bot consistently sits close to the limit, upgrade before it starts crashing. The next plan up costs more per month, but it may be cheaper than losing availability during peak hours.

AtrbCode bot hosting supports Python 3.11, Node.js 22, and Java 21 runtimes. You do not need a higher plan just to use a particular language; choose by RAM.

FAQ

How much does it cost to host a Discord bot at AtrbCode?

Plans start at $0.70 per month for 256 MB RAM. The first payment adds a $1.00 service fee and a one-time $2.00 account fee; later renewals add only the $1.00 service fee.

Is there a free Discord bot host?

AtrbCode does not offer a free plan. Railway’s free tier gives $1 of monthly usage and a 0.5 GB RAM cap, which is only enough for a small test bot. Paid fixed-price hosting is more predictable for a bot that must stay online.

Can I host a Python bot on the $0.70 plan?

Yes. AtrbCode bot hosting supports Python 3.11, Node.js 22, and Java 21. The $0.70 Starter Bot can run a Python bot as long as it fits within 256 MB of RAM.

What happens if my bot uses more RAM than the plan?

You should choose a plan with enough RAM for your bot’s workload. If you are unsure, start with a smaller plan and upgrade later.

Do I pay extra for auto-restart or persistent storage?

AtrbCode includes auto-restart on crash, persistent /app/data storage, and project download with the plan price. The only additional fees are the $1.00 service fee per payment and the one-time $2.00 account fee on your first bot plan.

If you are ready to host a bot, open the Discord bot hosting page and choose a plan. The setup guide at /help/discord-bot-24-7 walks through Python, Node.js, and Java bots from start to first invite.
