Questions

How much does Discord bot hosting cost?

Which languages and libraries can I use?

Python 3.11, Node.js 22 and Java 21. Python: anything that installs with pip, including discord.py, py-cord, nextcord, disnake and interactions.py. Node.js: anything from npm, including discord.js, Eris and Oceanic, with packages read from package.json. Java: a runnable .jar, for example a JDA or Discord4J bot built with Maven Shade or Gradle Shadow. The start file decides the language.

Can I start without any code?

Yes. In the Files tab pick the Python (discord.py) or Node.js (discord.js) starter bot: you get a working bot with a /ping command and a !hello reply. Add your token as a secret and deploy.

What happens if my bot crashes?

It restarts automatically on every plan, and the panel shows why it stopped in plain words. If it crashes 5 times within a few minutes, we stop it so it cannot loop forever, and email you its last output.

How do I give my bot its token?

Add it under Secrets in your dashboard (for example DISCORD_TOKEN) and read it with os.environ["DISCORD_TOKEN"] in Python, process.env.DISCORD_TOKEN in Node.js or System.getenv("DISCORD_TOKEN") in Java. Secrets are encrypted at rest and never shown back. Check my token asks Discord whether the token works and gives you the invite link for your bot.

Does my bot keep its data?

Yes, anything saved in /app/data is kept across restarts, redeploys and crashes. Starter includes 100 MB, Pro 500 MB, Ultra 2 GB.

Can I upload a project with cogs and folders, and edit it online?

Yes. Upload a .zip (up to 40 MB) or several files, choose the start file, and edit any text file in the browser editor. Download project gives you the files back as a .zip at any time.

Can I host a music bot?

Yes. When your bot uses voice packages such as discord.py[voice], yt-dlp or @discordjs/voice, FFmpeg is added to your bot's build automatically.

Where are the bots hosted?

On our servers in Frankfurt, Germany, each bot in its own isolated container, run by Atrb Services Limited (UK company 17226687).

How do I cancel?

Press Cancel plan on your bot in the dashboard. It keeps running until the end of the month you paid for, and you are not charged again.
