Guide
Host a Discord bot 24/7 (Python, Node.js or Java)
From a bot on your computer to a bot that never goes offline.
- Pick a plan on Discord bot hosting (from $0.70 a month) and give your bot a name.
- Upload your bot: .py files with requirements.txt, .js files with package.json, a runnable .jar, or a .zip of the whole project. No code yet? Pick the Python or Node.js starter bot in the Files tab for a working bot with /ping.
- Open Secrets, add DISCORD_TOKEN with your bot token, and save. Your code reads it with
os.environ["DISCORD_TOKEN"](Python),process.env.DISCORD_TOKEN(Node.js) orSystem.getenv("DISCORD_TOKEN")(Java). - Press Deploy. We install the packages your code imports, start the bot and check for about 20 seconds that it logs in and stays up before calling it online.
- Press Check my token with Discord in Secrets to see your bot's name and get its Invite to a server link.
The setup checklist at the top of each bot shows what is still missing, with a button for the next step.
Still stuck? Log in and ask support, or check the service status. New here? See bot hosting plans from $0.70 a month.
