My Discord bot is offline or keeps crashing

Read the reason, fix it, deploy again.

  1. Open your bot in My bots. If it stopped, the red Why it stopped box explains it in plain words with the last output.
  2. "Discord refused the bot token": press Check my token with Discord; if it was reset, paste the new token in Secrets.
  3. "A package is missing": for Python add it in the Packages tab (we check it exists on PyPI); for Node.js add it to package.json in Files. Then Deploy.
  4. "That .jar cannot be started on its own": rebuild it as a runnable jar with its libraries inside (see the Java guide).
  5. "Used more memory than its plan allows": your bot needs a bigger plan, or less data kept in memory.
  6. Use the Output tab's filter to find lines with error or Traceback, and Save output to share it with support.
A crashed bot restarts by itself. If it crashes 5 times in a few minutes we stop it so it cannot loop, and email you the reason.

Still stuck? Log in and ask support, or check the service status. New here? See bot hosting plans from $0.70 a month.
